- National Coordinator for Spices Research in India under ICAR;
- Director, Indian Institute of Spices Research;
- Coordinating Director, Centre for Medicinal Plants Research (CMPR), Arya Vaidya Sala, Kottakkal, Kerala.
- Head, Division of Crop Improvement and Biotechnology at National Research Centre for Spices (1983-1995), and Indian Institute of Spices Research (1995- 2000)
- Visiting Scientist, CMPR, Kottakkal.
CURRENTLY
- Research Advisor (R&D), Tata Tea Ltd., Bangalore, for developing Tea based herbal products and functional teas. .
Present Interest and work:
- Sacred plants of South Asia- Socio-cultural and religious associations- A publication on sacred plants used in religious rituals (Mandara) is fast progressing- a book of this sort will be the first time in India.
